Châteauroux: creation of a university campus on the Martinerie Nord site - 24 February 2016

Acquired by SFECZ (Sino France Economic Cooperation Zones), the site accommodating former military barracks is going to be transformed into a university campus. In the context of this project, Girus has been appointed General Contractor in partnership with Aube Conception Architectes.

This project forms part of the major EuroSity project, the first “Sino-European Hub”, a centre for industrial, logistics and commercial cooperation developed by SFECZ, covering a surface area of more than 500 Ha.

Girus is participating in the first phase of the creation of the future “International centre for higher education” (PESI), which involves constructing a temporary teaching building, adapting 33 existing buildings to serve as student accommodation, and transforming the former officers’ Mess hall into a restaurant and documentation centre.

With the buildings set to be delivered soon, Girus’ assignment, which concerned complete building services engineering (structural framework, HVAC, utilities and roads), is drawing to a close.
