Symposium on Incentive Charging – Thursday 13 October - 14 December 2011
On Thursday 13 October 2011, in Lyon, more than a hundred elected officials and professional technicians participated in a symposium on incentive charging, organised by ADEME Rhône-Alpes.
This event gave participants an insight into the current situation with regard to incentive charging, the studies required prior to setting up such a system, possible technical solutions, and the economic and social effects of charging. Feedback from regional schemes was also presented.
GIRUS was a leading partner in organising this event alongside AMORCE and INDDIGO.
Capitalising on the experience gained in providing expert advice on the implementation of incentive charging to more than twenty regional communities, Marianne Cabut and Nicolas Roussat provided contributions on:
- The need to take into account all potential obstacles and blocking points to setting up a system of incentive charging right from the preliminary study stages;
- Technical solutions for identifying waste bins and for on-board weighing systems.
